Hola todos!!


This week we had a crazy time serving the people here in calbuco. I love the mission. We visited our best friend hermana Marilyn and brought her flowers. She is the sweetest and I have loved seeing her become a more active member during my time here. We started recruiting her son to go help us teach our abuelita friend Neri, and its been really special to help him prepare to serve a mission and grow his testimony. We have had a lot of lessons with her where the spirit is really strong. Neri carries the light of Christ with her and it's such an amazing experience to help teach her.


This week we served our friend Moises. He was baptized last May and has come to church every Sunday since. He is so smart and actually speaks fluent English. I have learned so much from him because although he doesn't have a very good living situation, he is very faithful, actually the most faithful recent convert I have ever met. He is so so good and deserves the world.


Moises doesn't have a job and lacks of a lot professional help, but we were able to go over to his house and help him clean for an hour or so. All of his clothes are ripped and too small, he had mold all over his bed, bathroom, floor, etc. Usually we talk to him at a distance because he smells really bad and doesnt have money to buy the essentials. Going over there was tough, my comp didn't enter the house at first because it smelled so bad, but once we bleached everything it was ok.


This was by far the most rewarding service project I have ever done. I have never seen someone so happy with such a bad living condition. By giving him an hour of our time we made a huge difference. There is still a lot more work that needs to be done, but the physical change was very notable. I think giving an hour of time to go visit someone makes the same change on someone's heart. Giving your full attention and sacrificing your time is very valuable to people, and it helps them feel that God is aware of them and that He loves them.
