This week I have so many cool updates to share! First is addressing the subject line for the week, the title of our mission is changing to the Chile Puerto Montt Mission, so the Chile Osorno Mission is dying on September 28 :( They're also moving the mission house and office to Puerto Montt. I've been saying this since the day I got here but I really think this mission is getting a temple this general conference, but we'll see!! We also found out that this next transfer we are getting a set of elders in Paillaco! This is so good because we don't have that many priesthood holders in our branch, and there is a ton of potential in this area right now so it's super exciting!
It's really interesting being in Chile right now because everyone is talking about politics and voting. I'm not really sure what's going on, but yesterday and next Sunday we have been asked to stay in our homes once it's 6pm to avoid any danger out on the street. During the day there are a lot more people out than usual, so one positive to all of this craziness is that it has been a great way to find new people.
The best part of my week is definitely when we get to go to Llolly for lunch! We got to go check out one of the family's farms and their sheep and it was so cute!! All of their baaahs sounded different and it was so funny to listen to them. And all of the members that live out there are so sweet.
This week we had a mission wide devotional with Elder Renlund and his wife which was such a cool experience! He answered our questions we submitted and talked a lot about how important it is to focus on our missionary purpose, and how in turn that will bless our family, our friends, our work, and everything! He gave us a very strong reminder to focus on the sacrament every week, and approach it the way we want our investigators to. We shouldn't be thinking about if our friends are going to make it to church or not. We should be solely focused on the sacrament and what it represents, and be willing to take Christ's name upon us. I love that idea so much because often times we don't realize how essential the sacrament is in our lives. When we take the sacrament, we can have an increased capacity to be able to feel the Holy Ghost during the following week. It's an essential spiritual boost that we need to receive protection and guidance. I'm so grateful for the sacrament.
I hope you are all doing good and I love you all!
