Good Samaritan Moment

Hola todos!!

One day this past week we were walking down the street and passed a bus stop and saw a guy who was passed out on the bench. This is pretty normal in our sector because there are a lot of drunk men and most of the time they sleep on the streets when the bar is closed. There were people nearby who avoided looking his way, my comp and I included. We passed by and continued on our way, and then I had the thought that we should go check on him and make sure he was okay. In the past we have always passed by because there's not a lot we can do to help and sometimes it can be dangerous, but this time it was different. I asked him if he was okay and he didn't respond, his eyes and mouth were both half open and he had a little bit of blood on his clothes, and was breathing very slowly. The people around us began to start looking our way, and a lady who was walking past came by, assessed the situation, and then called an ambulance. It was so crazy and definitely taught me that I know nothing about medicine or how to save a life, but also that Heavenly Father trusted us and worked through us to help him receive the help that he needed. It turns out he was not an alcoholic, and I just love this experience because God knows His children. He knows what they need and who He needs to work through to go about His purposes in loving and caring for His children.

I am so grateful for the members in this area, they have started hanging out with our friends without us. It's been sad... but also SO GREAT! They love and invite our friends into the ward family and help them feel like they belong as if it's their second nature. The people here are so good. I have absolutely loved ministering to the members by throwing fun activities, doing service, and sharing messages with them. Serving them has helped me find so much joy in the work and has helped me come to know my Savior better. I love you all so much and hope you enjoyed this amazing weekend of general conference! Let me know what your favorite talk was and why :)
