I MET AN APOSTLE
Hola todos!
This week my comp and I bonded so much because we have been so busy but we've seen so many miracles and have had so much fun and I loveee the mission.
My comp is a queen, her Spanish is so amazing and yesterday she gave a talk, directed the music in Spanish, and ate a huge plate full of pastel de choclo (corn paste stuff with hard boiled eggs and sugar on top). I feel so bad but also she's learning so fast so it's okay.
This week we had a mission wide reunion where I got to see all of my friends and it was the best thing ever. I got to see all my favorite elders from my MTC district for the first time in 8 months, and my compi Hermana Stamper. It was so funny because we thought we were going to have a meeting with Elder Stevenson, but instead they sent us a member of the 70 last minute. Sorry about the subject line, its just click bate :) but Elder Godoy's message was so good and exactly what our mission needed to hear. The night before we crammed 5 other hermanas into our tiny little apartment and it was such a crazy party but made everything way more exciting and fun. I love the mission.
This scripture has been my anchor this week:
He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation.
2 Nephi 26:24
Training a newbie has been a rollercoaster of emotions. I have felt so excited yet so inadequate, and I am so scared to mess up one little thing because I dont want to impact her love or excitement for the mission in a bad way. It's also been a huge adjustment to slow down and not do the work as fast as I used to, and it's taken me a while to realize that it's okay, God's work is still getting done. I just love being a missionary and love doing as much as I can, but as a trainer I can learn to better focus those efforts on my companion. I know that God has never given me something that hasn't been for my benefit, and I know that same idea applies to all of you. God is so good
