Last Monday we had the best pday I've ever had on the mission so far. A member offered to take a big group of missionaries out to the beach in his bus. It could only hold like 15 people comfortably, so obviously we packed 23 of us up in there. It was so funny and we played music and sang together and I'm never going to forget it. At the beach we played volleyball, soccer, and got really close to "tripping and falling" in the water. I've never wanted to swim so bad.
But it gets better!! On the way home we stopped in PAILLACO! The crib!!! I got to see the old house and my favorite member Olaya was outside which was such a miracle. I jumped out of the bus and gave her the biggest hug ever. Such a great day!! Olaya had a trip planned to come down to Osorno so this week we hung out again and made pancakes because we had to for the memories :) it was so good to see her again.
We were also able to go out with the sister leaders and buy them ice cream because they have been serving us so much the past couple weeks and we just love them so much.
This week the work in our sector has been so tough but we're making time to enjoy everyday and find God's hand in our lives. I am so grateful for our friend Ranato who is preparing to be baptized. He is basically our only friend we are teaching right now but I think that's because God knows his potential and that we need to be focusing on him. Seriously he is so sweet and I can't explain how happy it makes me to see him grow his love for God and for this church.
This week I finished reading Mosiah and it was so amazing to be able to reread the conversion story of Alma the younger and the sons of Mosiah. I learned so much about how I can be better at loving others and seeing them for their strengths, and for who they can become through Christ's love and patience.
Mosiah 28:3
"Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble."
I love how their past experiences grew their testimonies and desires to share the gospel, and also their love and gratitude for the forgiveness that they had received. God prepares each of us for the experiences we will have in our lives. The sons of Mosiah were able to see the Lamanites with the eyes of God, seeing them for their eternal potential and for who they could become, not for who they were in the moment. They were able to do this through their personal conversion, and through the way that God had prepared them in the past. They knew how important the gospel was and wanted to share their experiences and testimonies with all of Gods children because they had seen how it had changed their life through the repentance process. I have seen this so much on my mission as our friends have made commitments and started to change. Trying to see others with an eternal perspective as the person they can become can be difficult, but has helped me begin to see and love others as Christ does. We all have eternal divine potential and following the covenant path helps us see that potential in ourselves and in others.
God loves you all so much and so do I!!
