work it week
Hola todos!! Sorry I didn't send an email last week, my comp and I were partying too much and maybe also a little bit sick. But Hermana Stamper and I have seen so many miracles this week, it's been crazy. We have really tried to focus on being exactly obedient, and the extra help we've received from Heavenly Father is insane. We had exchanges on Tuesday so for a day and a half, I was with Hermana Jara. She is from Vina del Mar and is going home next week. I learned so much from her because every time she teaches and talks, it's always with so much love. It was so nice to be able to talk in straight Spanish for a day, I missed it so much, but also I still have so much to learn.
When Hermana Stamper got back, we worked so hard. We got home and crashed every night, but it was so worth it because the miracles we saw were so special. Here are some of my favorites:
✰ we were walking down a street and Hermana Stamper saw this lady with the cutest outfit ever, and then we decided to go up to her and start talking. She invited us to walk with her, and she mentioned how she was on a quick errand from her office to go and pick up some bread, and that she was headed back. She invited us to come in, meet all of her coworkers, and share a message with them. So we head on in, and this was the cutest little office ever with 3 girl boss women inside all at their own desks with computers and everything. Goals. We ended up sharing a message with them and it felt like we preached to an office full of people, which is exactly what happened. It was super empowering and they gave us their business card and told us to come back soon. We were freaking out it was so cool.
✰ all week my comp had the thought to visit Bishop and his family, and so one day we went to drop off cookies to them. We showed up and it was a miracle that every member of their family was there. At the moment, everyone is inactive except for the Bishop, but our relationship with everyone in the family is so strong. The spirit and love we felt in that house really confirmed how we needed to stop by and see how they were doing.
✰ this week we have been focusing on finding a family, and we left Bishop's house and I saw a little kid hanging out in a car, and had the thought to go talk to the adult with him. I saw he was on the phone, so it was superrrr awkward but he gave me a chance to explain we were missionaries, and then kept talking. I was a little worried he was going to be mad for interrupting but he ended the call and was so chill. He told us all about his family, and how they were going to be going on vacation soon, and then gave us his number and address and said to reach out next week. His little kiddo was our best friend
✰ we did an idea I had heard of called 14 calles, where basically we pray as a companionship and then individually look at our area map and write down 14 streets. At the end, my comp and I would compare lists, and whatever streets we have in common is where we need to go. BEST idea ever. We only had one street in common (because our sector is huge) and we headed out. We walked down the street and nobody wanted to listen, and we kept asking ourselves why were supposed to be there. We got to the end of the street and were just about to leave, and then I saw a lady sitting in the car. We went up to her and started talking, and it turns out that she just moved here and needed some help painting, and she has a daughter our age who speaks English and really needs some friends here.
✰ for the first time in my mission I asked someone to be baptized and the spirit was so strong, and he is so awesome. He has been meeting with missionaries for a while and has read the Book of Mormon every day for months, he's such a diligent and hard working guy and we are so excited and happy for him!
✰ the elders started teaching this guy and a couple of days ago he told them that one day he was walking down the street, and two pretty American girls came up to him and invited him to come to the church and make cookies with them if he didn't have any plans for Christmas. He told the elders that it was the best day of his life, but he was working and wasn't going to be able to go. Later he saw elders in the street and realized they were from the same church, and then started listening to their messages, and now he's about to get baptized. When my comp and I found this out, we were freaking out because they were talking about us :)
All I can say is that God is so real. If any of you have doubts about that in your life right now, look for His hand in your life and I promise youll find it. Pray and ask Him to help you recognize that. The amount of blessings and miracles that are in our lives are innumerable, and dont do justice in trying to show how much our Heavenly Father loves us. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, and I love all of you!!
