a little progress is a big deal

Hola todos!! This past week I hit 7 months on the mission!!! It's the craziest thing in the world to think that I've been in Chile for 6 months, talking Spanish and sharing the gospel. I've loved every second of it. This past week was a fun one, we have a huge sector with a lot of farm land, but we figured out the bus schedules and were finally able to go explore our area a bit! We visited a couple members and took a lot of pictures and ended up getting stuck out there waiting for the bus home. We waited for about an hour and debated starting to walk home, and that would have taken us a good 3 hours or so, but then a bus showed up and that was a huge miracle.

Yesterday I got to see one of my best friends from Paillaco here in Osorno!! Jonathan usually has to work out here but decided to come early so he could come to my ward and visit me. It was so crazy because I could understand him way better and we joked around a ton and it made me so happy to see him making church a priority. This week our friend Giuliano came to our basketball activity on thursday, and it was his first time coming to a LDS church so he was super nervous. He didn't know anyone besides us and didn't like playing basketball that much so I have no idea why he ended up coming in the first place. But he came and it was such a party. We played volleyball too and he loved that part, and when we had to leave he decided to stay with a ton of people he didn't know in a place he's never been before. That was a miracle and my comp and I were freaking out. We were so worried about how he was feeling and what he was thinking, but turns out he loved it. Then the next day he came to our Friday night football activity. Okay okay so the moral of this story is that this guy is not interested in the church at all, we're only friends with him because he's super awesome and also because we want to be good missionary influences in his life. But I really think it's gotten to him and he wants to find more friends like us and let there be more positive influences in his life. This past week was such a small thing but it's still progress, and my comp and I are so excited because he's just our favorite.

We got a lot of photos this week! Now that I've left my first training area and gotten to know the members here, I am just so happy. The mission is so awesome and I am so grateful to be here. I love and miss you all so much!!
