Love the People!

Hola todos!

This week was so beautiful! One of the members in our branch Olaya mentioned that we could borrow some bikes to visit the countryside parts of our area! There aren't any buses that will take us and usually we would have to pay for an uber out and back, so we decided it would be good to go check it out. It was about an hour out from Paillaco and it was so gorgeous!!! There are a lot of people that live out there that we don't really get to visit often, so I'm excited to go back again. Later that night we planned the halloween party for our branch with the same member. We were listening to some music and my comp and I started dancing, and Olaya mentioned that we should learn the thriller dance for the party. (She is very American...like way more than me) so we have been practicing that for our exercise time everyday and it's going to be so good!!

We have been meeting with a less active woman a lot this week and she is the sweetest ever!! She speaks Spanish so clearly and somehow always understands me. She is always alone in her house so it has been a great opportunity to visit with her and listen to her stories. It's hard to tell her how much I love her, but seriously I love her so much, and all of our friends here. Ever since my first day in Chile I have been so blessed to teach our friend Jonathan too. He has been meeting with missionaries since January, and yesterday he had his interview for his baptism!! It has been amazing to witness his love for the gospel grow and his testimony strengthen. He is very in tune with the spirit and somehow knows when my comp and I need a little boost in our day. It's so fun teaching people and helping them love the gospel as much as I do. I love the people here so much!!

This week I have studied a lot about Jesus Christ and His perfect example of forgiveness. One example that I keep coming back to is before He was crucified. King Pilate had lots of thoughts or warnings from the Holy Ghost, telling him that Jesus was not guilty of anything, but in the end he was basically at fault for giving into what the people wanted and ordering His crucifiction. But during His suffering on the cross, Jesus asked Heavenly Father to forgive them, including Pilate whose fault it was. This is so incredible to me, especially because He forgave them while feeling all of the pain that they had caused him. I am so grateful for His perfect example that teaches us the importance of forgiving and loving others. It inspires me everyday to look for the good in others and find the divine love that Christ has for them.

Love you all!!

- rabies shots whoop whoop! I forgot to write about this in the email but fyi the church has a policy for dog bites sooo I have to get 5 vaccinations over the next couple of weeks. I look nervous but I actually loved it and am so excited to go back for the next ones. I went without my comp and answered all the doctors questions about the accident and billing everything, IN SPANISH, I have no idea how but it was a miracle for sure.
