so much good!

Hola hola!!
I got to meet my district this week and they are so fun! There are 6 of us total, 2 knew Spanish before the mission and 4 didn't. That has helped my motivation to learn Spanish grow so fast. It's super cool to see gringos speak Spanish so well, so I'm excited to get to that point. The chilean slang here is real you guys! Since day one in Chile I have been keeping a notebook of chilean words so here are some of my favorites:

1. Flite- sketchy/gangster people
2. Bakan- cool
3. Cuico- proud people that are usually rich
4. Fome- boring/lame
5. Super- you know this one but people say it here sooo much
6. Chuta- like "oh no" or "dang it"

Anyways those are some of my favorites but there are so many. This week we had a lot of cool experiences. First, we got a baptismal date for our friend Johnny! He is so sweet, and it's been a great experience helping teach him the gospel. He always has a lot of deep questions and wants to know the truth. I don't understand a lot that he says, so usually I just sit there and smile. And when I talk he does the exact same thing, probably because he can't understand me either. But the love and support is there for sure. Even with the members, I can feel the love and their very strong desire to help the missionaries, so the language barrier isn't really a problem.

We also had a ton of great opportunities to talk to people in the street! One day we were walking to the church and a lady had fallen on the sidewalk and her friends were trying to help her up. It was such a miracle because they were right outside the church, so we were able to run in and grab some water and a med kit to help her. We also met a little family at a park and were able to talk with them for a while about their past experiences with missionaries. They were so nice and had a lot of questions for us. These are just a couple of the ways we shared the gospel this week and they were all such special moments. I love being in Chile so much! Everything is different and new but I love it. There is so much to be grateful for here and I feel so much of God's love for these people.

I hope you all are doing good, and thank you so much for the emails! :)
With love, Hermana Stewart
