Paillaco Villarica
Hola todos!
This week was so crazy! We got on the plane to Santiago Monday night and flew for about 8 hours. It was so fun because the plane was huge, but also I wouldnt recommend trying to get any sleep on it. We arrived in santiago around 7am and had no info on our next flight. We had to call missionary travel to get flights scheduled for all 14 of us, and last minute they got us flights to Puerto Mont which was a huge miracle. So we get on another flight, and when we landed we again had no info on where we were supposed to go or if someone was picking us up. Eventually some missionaries found us and got our ride to the mission home figured out so everything was fine! Usually I think I would be worried or stressed during a situation like that, but we were all just trusting the process and it was pretty cool. I got to spend 2 nights in a hotel next to the mission home and it was so great to sleep well and have warm showers.
My area I am serving in is called Paillaco. It's a super small town in the Villarica sector and it has rained everyday since we got here. There are not a lot of people here but the members that live here are so amazing! My favorite thing to do is visit with them and have lunch with them. Some people I understand better than others, but my companion is a native chilean and has helped me a lot. She is constantly cooking for me and has loved teaching me about all the fun chilean words and foods. She is so happy all the time and I get to help her learn english while we are together! She has about 2 transfers left until she goes home to Santiago.
We have lunch with members everyday and sometimes we get to go out to the campo which is so beautiful!! I'll attach some pictures but basically we take a bus through a forest to get to a little community near the farm lands. It is so green and there are a lot of members out there! I love being in Chile and love sharing the gospel with the people here. Everytime we have taught a lesson I have felt the spirit and the love that God has for these people. It's such a cool experience to help teach about something that will bring someone so much joy and so many blessings. Everyday I have found so much strength through Jesus Christ and his example.
I love you all!!
