Last Week in Mexico

Hola todos!

This week was so bittersweet because we had to say goodbye to so many friends and people from our branch. More and more it's starting to feel real that we only have a couple days left until we head out to the field. I'm sooo nervous to go but I feel ready and am excited to meet my new comp! On Sunday I was asked to speak in sacrament last minute and it was so scary but so fun. Now I can say that I've given a talk in spanish! The latina hermanas said they understood me and that my accent was good so that was a miracle from my week. We also did a musical number as a district and I thought it was going to turn out so bad because the violin and piano never really practiced together, but it turned out sooo good.

Today we were able to go to the temple and it was great to be able to understand more in spanish. It's such a blessing to have a temple only 40 min from the CCM, and I think they have a new one under construction coming soon which is so awesome! Also, I was able to get a pic with the other 2 elders from Longmont at the temple. My favorite thing is running into the missionaries from home and from my old district.

Lately all the highlights from my personal study have all come from the Spencer W Kimball teachings of prophets book. It's such an ancient book but it's seriously so amazing. Here's a part that I love:

"One of the most serious human defects in all ages is procrastination, an unwillingness to accept personal responsibilities now. Men came to earth consciously to obtain their schooling, their training and development, and to perfect themselves, but many have allowed themselves to be diverted and have become addicts to mental and spiritual indolence and to the pursuit of worldly pleasure."

This inspired me to make the most of my last week in the ccm and to keep trying to understand spanish. It's so easy to lose motivation when you have the same schedule and responsibilities everyday, but when we procrastinate we are wasting the gift of time on the earth that God has given us. If you guys have time go pick a chapter and read it because this book is the best!

¡Feliz Agosto y mucho amor!
Hermana Stewart
