9 Months
Hola todos!
This week was such a good one. One of my best friends Fernando got baptized this past week in Paillaco!!! Hermana Merrick and I found him and his mom a day after they moved from Venezuela, and through the members we were able to get them some clothes, bedding, pots, pans, and food to get by for the next couple days. The members took in Auris (the mom) and helped her find a job too. Auris has plans to get married soon and will be baptized later with her husband and their 2 other children. I am so happy for them!!! The support the members have given to their family has been incredible.
My comp and I are still running every morning and it's become my favorite thing ever. She just hit her 2 months on the mission and we got ice cream from our friend Julian to celebrate! She is doing very well with adapting to mission life and I am so impressed every day. In our lessons she invites the spirit every time she shares her thoughts, and it's been really cool to see how the Holy Ghost will work through her with the spanish she has, by giving her the words she needs exactly when she needs them.
We had a day this past week where literally everyone canceled on us and I definitely took it personally, which made it a lot harder than it needed to be, but God worked a miracle because that's what he's always doing. :) We were waiting at a crosswalk and the light was red, and we found ourselves standing next to a guy covered in tattoos. I had a really cool thought to talk to him and make small talk, and we found out that he has only been living here for about 2 weeks and feels pretty alone sometimes. He straight up told us that he is ready to change and find joy in Christ and my comp and I were just freaking out. We had a lesson with him the next day and I am just so excited to keep talking to him and teaching him more about the power of the atonement. We have been looking and praying to find Heavenly Fathers chosen children who are ready to listen and act on our message, and he's such an answer to our prayers.
Today I hit my 9 months on the mission. I don't even know where the time went, seriously it's so crazy. But I am so happy to be here and love this work so much! I feel like I have come to know my Savior a little bit more everyday and that's something I will always be grateful for.
I love you all!!
