the best time to pray

This week was filled with bus rides because we got to travel to Osorno for a multi-zone conference! I got to see some of the people from my district in the MTC and that was such a happy moment. Our mission president and his family are the sweetest and it is always so good to see them too. 

Wednesday we had intercambios and I got to stay here in Paillaco, and it was definitely one of my favorite days on the mission so far. It was super great because my confidence in the area and with my spanish skills is so much better than before. Hermana Dover was my comp for the day and she is the sweetest! We had such a funny moment when we were calling a potential investigator, and it ended with him telling us to never call him again because we were from the "mormon church." But before that, the lesson was pretty interesting. We were teaching him about prayer and he told us in full sincerity that the best time to pray is at 2 or 3 in the morning, and that you should never ever pray around anyone because the bible says to pray in secret. We were laughing so hard but silently over the phone, so it was fun. The day she left we got up super early to go run together in the rain, and that was such a fun bonding moment because both of us have comps who don't like to run. It was so cold but worth it! 

One of my favorite scriptures to share with everyone is 3 Nephi 12:15-16 which says:

"Behold, do men light a candle and put it under a bushel? Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house. Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Every one of God's children has been given the light of Christ, and everyone can share that light through their actions and words. God has given each of us gifts and talents that we can also use to spread His light and truth to others. We love sharing this scripture with people because we always invite them to smile more, and it's so cute seeing everyone smile when we bring it up. So I'd like to invite all of you to smile a little bit more this week and find ways to share your light with the people around you! :)
