Visiting the Dry Creek (Spanish) Branch

Hermana Stewart hatched a little plan with us that she wanted to attend the Spanish branch after visiting our ward this last Sunday.

Immediately when we arrived, we found a few of our old friends from the days when the Spanish group met with our ward. Of course seeing her and her missionary name tag, they greeted us in Spanish! We love our Spanish branch and President and Sister Riddle!! The members there are so nice and welcoming.

We were also relieved that Damon showed up the same time we did. His Spanish is so useful- and it helped a lot that he can be there in case we need him.Comfort zone- even if he was sitting on the stand for the meeting. But actually a lot of the members there speak pretty good English. So really it was like going to visit our old ward!

It was fast and testimony meeting, and on the way she told me that she was actually thinking of bearing her testimony in Spanish- but kind of nervous. But when President Riddle mentioned the idea- that was the confirmation she needed to commit. And, she did it. She bore her testimony in Spanish for the first time! It was really awesome to see her get up and do that.

She also enjoyed greeting the Hermanas who are assigned to that branch. After talking to them, she said she felt even more excited, and she said she could understand the sister missionaries’ testimonies pretty well- which was a huge boost to her confidence. The members- so so! Haha.

You can be sure will be back tomorrow for one more brush up on her Spanish before she leaves us this Tuesday!.
