Off to Mexico!
Hola hola!!
This week went by so fast! My travel plans came in and I'm heading out to Mexico at 5:30am on Tuesday! It'll be super early but I'm so excited to get started. I'm flying out with most of my district and I can't wait to meet them in person!
The online MTC has definitely grown on me. My companions and I have found a lot of ways to make it fun, because believe it or not, 9 hours on zoom can get repetitive. My district is also pretty entertaining so it's not too bad. On Wednesday we got to teach people from Mexico over zoom! It was so funny because our teacher explained the instructions in Spanish but none of us had any idea what he meant. So in our break out room this guy in a super dark room in a hood popped up and we were freaked out because we thought he was a hacker or something. Turns out we were supposed to get to know him a bit and teach him a lesson, and it went super well! My companion took a pic of us after he left, and we just busted up laughing. We are always so confused, but our spanish is getting better! Our teachers only talk to us in spanish which is helpful but also half the time nobody knows what's going on.
Last sunday I got to go to the spanish branch and it was so fun being able to understand some of what was going on. I shared a simple testimony in spanish and I was so nervous, but my dad said it was good! My favorite moment of the week was definitely tuesday night. We have a weekly devotional and then as a district we get to talk about our favorite insights, and the spirit is always so strong. I loved how Sister Gong shared the story of a plate that shatters, but that people can glue it back together and add some sparkles and it's still a high valued item. I'm so grateful that we can turn to Christ and accept Him as our Savior. Through Him, all of our cracks can become "beautiful scars" as we learn and grow from our trials.
Next time I'll email from Mexico!! I love you all, have a good week!
