Hola! Todos!

Surprise of the day- Hermana Stewart got reassigned to a new district. Do we call this her first transfer?? I’ve never heard of that happening in the MTC. She will miss all the friends she has made the last few days. Though not one of them are headed to Chile. Almost all were going to Argentina. The teachers were sad to see them go. I suppose she can count herself blessed to know even MORE people!
In her new district she is still serving in a trio. And there are some others going to Osorno! So that’s good. Her new teachers are speaking full Spanish- so it’s harder now. The fire is lit!

Here’s her letter this week:
I feel like I have been waiting forever to send out an email with that subject line
I am so so happy to be a missionary!! The online MTC has been so much fun. I started off my week without any information on my schedule or how to get on my classes, so that made me a little nervous. But my amazing mom somehow found some people in my district on facebook and we were able to get everything figured out the night before.

I have had so many switch ups this week with companions and districts, it's kind of been an emotional roller coaster, but I am finally in a district full of people who are going to Osorno with me! My teachers are incredible and so are the missionaries that I've met so far. My current companions are Hermana Hiatt and Hermana Rich. Both are super outgoing and sweet, and both of them are about at the same level of spanish as me which is so nice.

My Spanish is getting better, but very slowly. I feel like it's already impacting my English because I've been second guessing myself a little bit, and it's only been a week! We've talked a lot about the gift of tongues and how it's not just given to us, but that we need to work for it and develop it through effort. My confidence in my Spanish has gone up and down a lot this week, but I have felt Christ by my side through all of it.

This week I loved learning about how Joseph Smith's study of the scriptures impacted future generations, and how that relates to us today. As we all study the scriptures we grow our conversion to the Lord, which can bless our future family and the people we meet in our daily lives. I love being able to study the scriptures because I know it will prepare me to share the gospel with others, which hopefully will help their future family as well. As we try to strengthen our relationship with God and seek for answers in the scriptures, we can develop a brightness and joy about ourselves that can invite others to want to know Christ too.

I love you all so much!!

Hermana Stewart
